I don’t mind the size. I have classes with 32 and 34. That I can control. But I have a classroom with 26: 19 boys and 7 girls. WHY? Who thought this is a good idea? This class is more challenging than the classroom with 34 for me.

I'm not reading my feedback forms after observations this year bc the first one they graded me as though I don't have a class of 35 with life skills students and EB students new to the country (no English) in that class bc the programs for those students were cut. and my 1 GT kid didn't get an extension activity so I got marked developing I'm so over it lol

36 with behaviors I've never seen in my 7 years of teaching. They were throwing POP ITS AT ME. Any time one of them stands up, he goes to the whiteboard and demands to teach the class. Same kid claims he is stupid and doesn't know anything (including how to take responsibility for something). Girl almost got in a fight with someone because she kept making faces at him. Another girl asked me if I hated black people. When I said of course not, she said "well you have to say that" as if I wasnt sincere. Im struggling 😫

The first Friday of school my admin walked into my 8th period and said “why are all of you in here together? Half of you have stay away agreements.” It’s been 3 weeks. Delta Sigma (what I call my 20/29 boy class) is still together. Some days we thrive. Some we survive.

Last year I had classes of 34-36. ALL freshmen classes. I was out frequently due to my pregnancy….. let’s just say I got a little more appreciation after.

Mine did a walkthrough and said “why are you working on plot when the standard is summarization?” Fair question, Because that’s what our county slides told me to do 😳 she emailed the county to ask why they are requiring us to use their slides that aren’t even aligning with the given standards 😂 I was immediately given permission to cut out things that don’t make sense to me. I’m new to the county this year so was just trying to go by the book while I figure it all out.

My principal pointed out ISS for me on my walkthrough and introduced me to our student support staff saying I’d get to know them well with some of the kids I have 😳
