I don't believe he lost his memory but is only pretending to have lost it to protect Pio. He knows if Pio finds out his mother was behind the kidnapping it would utterly destroy him, as Pio was already emotionally fragile to begin with. He is working on the sonata they were working on together, and his micro-expressions when he saw him made me believe he recognized Pio. He chose the name Luca, which represents a clean slate, a life away from the debt collectors, his dad, and Pio's toxic family. Now it will be Pio's turn to break through Jeong-yu's wall.

I don't seriously think he has lost his mind, instead I think he remembers everything but for once in his life he wanna live for himself. he wants to play music, to be involved in music without caring about what happened in his past. he doesn't want to remember what he had to go through just because he had talent. I'm by his side he has every right to pretend as if he can't remember anything.

I don't think he lost his memory. He has every right to say he doesn't remember kang pio he treated him like shit almost every episode and he probably changed his name because he doesn't want that past anymore and if he lost his memory then why did he most likely tell someone his dream was to be a pianist

I'm stuck between he 100% lost his memory or just the fact he wants to forget his past. I feel like memory loss would be the more obvious option but the reason I think he wants to forget is that in the preview of the next ep he says "I do not wish for my music to be overshadowed by my past" As if he wants himself and others to see his music now for what it is now rather than his past.
