there saying now cause he didn't touch it but when u read the rules it says if a player makes an effort to play the ball its offside basically utd were robbed

Under IFAB Law 11, the rule for which body parts count toward offside is straightforward:
What counts: Any part of the head, torso, legs, or feet that can legally play the ball. If any of these scoring body parts are closer to the opponent's goal line than the second-to-last defender and the ball, the player is in an offside position.
What DOES NOT count: Hands and arms. The boundary for the arm is defined as the bottom of the armpit. Anything below the armpit is ignored when drawing offside lines.
