@altinyoiz: Three Great Ancient Empires(🇬🇷🇮🇷,🇨🇳) 🏛️ The Sasanian Empire 224–651 AD The Sasanians were the last great pre-Islamic Persian Empire and considered themselves heirs to the ancient Iranian imperial tradition. Their principal capital was Ctesiphon in Mesopotamia, a major political and economic center located on the Tigris River. At their height, the Sasanians controlled much of Iran, Iraq, Armenia and the Caucasus, parts of Central Asia, and the shores of the Persian Gulf, while at certain times extending their influence as far as Yemen and southern Arabia. Sasanian military power was particularly famous for its heavily armored cavalry. For centuries, they competed with Rome and Byzantium for control of the Caucasus, Armenia, Mesopotamia, and important trade routes. Under Khosrow I Anushirvan, the Sasanian state reached one of its strongest periods in terms of administration, economy, military organization, and culture. Sasanian culture also had a major influence on neighboring regions. Zoroastrianism was the principal state religion, while Persian architecture, metalwork, silk textiles, medicine, and scholarship influenced surrounding civilizations. 🏛️ The Byzantine Empire 330–1453 AD The Byzantine Empire was essentially the continuation of the Eastern Roman Empire. Its center was Constantinople, an exceptionally wealthy and strategically important city located between Europe and Asia. One of the greatest periods of Byzantine expansion came under Justinian I in the sixth century. His armies conquered parts of North Africa, Italy, and southern Spain, bringing a substantial portion of the former Western Roman territories under Constantinople for a time. Byzantine power did not rely solely on its army. Diplomacy, a sophisticated system of fortifications, naval power, and the use of allies and client states were also extremely important. Constantinople itself was one of the most heavily fortified cities in the world. Culturally, Byzantium combined Roman heritage, Greek language and culture, and Christianity. The empire eventually became the most important center of Eastern Christianity, and its legacy played a major role in the development of the Orthodox Christian world. The principal eastern rival of Byzantium for centuries was the Sasanian Empire. The Roman–Persian wars were among the longest-running political and military rivalries of the ancient world. 🐉 The Tang Dynasty 618–907 AD The Tang Dynasty was one of the most powerful and culturally brilliant periods in Chinese history. After reunifying China, the Tang state expanded its influence toward Central Asia, particularly under Emperor Taizong and his successors. At various points, Tang China exercised control or strong influence over parts of Central Asia, the Tarim Basin, and regions surrounding the Silk Road. This had enormous economic importance because it connected China to the vast commercial networks linking East and West. The Tang capital, Chang’an, was one of the largest cities in the world at the time. Merchants, diplomats, and immigrants from Persia, Sogdia, Central Asia, India, and other regions lived or operated there. As a result, Tang China was one of the most cosmopolitan civilizations of the medieval world. Tang culture also flourished enormously. Poetry, painting, ceramics, metalworking, medicine, astronomy, and technology all advanced considerably. Buddhism was highly influential, while Confucianism and Taoism also remained important. An especially interesting connection is that the Sasanians and Tang China were linked through Central Asia. After the fall of the Sasanian Empire, members of the Sasanian royal family and other Persian refugees reached Tang China and had connections with the Chinese court. #History #iran #china #creatorsearchinsights #fypvideotiktok
