@inside.ileife: ILE-IFE NURTW EXECUTIVES CONDEMN THE KILLING OF AJAGUGBADE, POPULARLY KNOWN AS “EMIR” The executives of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ile-Ife, have strongly condemned the killing of Ajagugbade, popularly known as Emir. According to the union, Emir and his entourage were allegedly attacked by Wakil Nurudeen Alowonle, the immediate past NURTW Osun State Chairman, and his alleged accomplices. Among those mentioned were Olayemi Ojo, popularly known as Sibi, as well as individuals identified as Sultan, Imole, Elesin, and about ten other persons reportedly wearing masks and carrying sophisticated weapons. The incident reportedly caused serious damage at Mayfair Garage, Ile-Ife, with several members sustaining injuries. As of the time of filing this report, some affected members were reportedly receiving treatment at the Seventh-day Adventist Hospital and the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC). The NURTW executives called on security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure that anyone found responsible is brought to justice. The matter has reportedly been reported to the Nigeria Police Force, Ife Area Command, Moore, Ile-Ife, for further investigation. The union appealed to everyone to remain calm and law-abiding while urging the relevant authorities to strengthen security measures and protect lives across Ile-Ife and Osun State.
