Thirty years ago today, the world lost Tupac Amaru Shakur at just 25 years old.   Born to Afeni Shakur, a Black Panther activist who fought for justice from inside a prison cell while pregnant with him, Tupac carried that spirit into everything he created. He was a poet, an actor, a revolutionary and one of the greatest rappers to ever touch a microphone. His music spoke directly to the pain, the pride and the resilience of Black America in a way that nobody before him had quite managed, and nobody since has matched.   From 2Pacalypse Now to Me Against the World to All Eyez on Me, he documented a generation with honesty and vulnerability that still cuts through thirty years later. Dear Mama still stops a room. California Love still fills a dancefloor. Hit Em Up still hits like it did the first time. There is not a DJ in hip hop culture who has not reached for a Tupac record at some point in a set, and there never will be.
