@politicalparalysi: Stella Creasy's amendment would have capped political donations at £100,000 a year. Sixty MPs backed it. The government sent it to a taskforce instead. Days later, two men gave Reform £72m. #UKPolitics #NigelFarage #ReformUK #StellaCreasy #PoliticalParalysis @Stella Creasy

Labour are now trying to bring in rules that they can backdate. except both donors now live back in Britain. the reason they won't put a yearly cap is because they get too much in donations from unions. it was unions that put a block to the cap. if you look at a lust of donors for Labour there are so many donating well over 100k and into the millions.

I bet Labour would have accepted it. I understand that if you donate large sums to labour you either get millions back in contracts, or a seat in the lords, all sounds a bit iffy to me .

That’s not true though is it, the tax payer gave labour and the tories £25 million last year , and the unions gave labour £150 million over the last 5 years, so let’s put so e perspective on this

The question is what they expect a future Farage government to do for them …. what grace and favours will a Farage government bestow on them .

How can you backdate a law that’s not in yet , anyone in the world could give you £2 million as a gift it’s not against the law apart from checking for money laundering, so if you were given this gift say 3 years ago you could then donate that money????

I think this might break them , also Reform are a Ltd company so this is income and if not covered by expenses at the year end will be profit and thus taxed. Surely?
