This is somewhat different from how it is taught elsewhere. Some of these ways of teaching, and versions of technique that he taught only to his uchideshi, arose from his unique experiences.”

We go direct: A very straight line." — Meido Moore Shihan strips away all unnecessary circular movements to demonstrate the pure combat efficiency of Sokumen iriminage against a Yokomenuchi strike. In classical Budo geometry, flashing a blade (tanto) changes the entire dynamic of the entry. If you hesitate, orbit around Uke, or create wide, telegraphic circles, you expose your vital centers to a devastating counter-cut. Shihan masterfully illustrates that true old-school security relies on a penetrating, immediate laser line. Watch closely as Shihan cuts through the attack, using an uncompromisingly straight entry to instantly occupy Uke’s blind spot and shatter their structural balance from behind before they can adjust their center.
