from experience they only feel guilty once they are caught. Some will then be remorseful but others will become defensive and blame the innocent partner, they cannot deal with or accept the consequences of their actions

he felt guilty before he told me, he told me not even 3 days after, this will be 2 months ago tomorrow, it was his girl best friend, on the way to my house, he came clean, told me they hooked up, answered every question, he acknowledged that he should have said no when she came onto him, he wishes he had and hes working everyday to fix things

As someone who cheated on her ex husband. I can say I only felt remorse years later when it happened to me. I truly believed his lack of involvement when I needed him most.. he deserved it and he didn’t ever. If I could take it back I would have just left he found his forever tho and I love her. Truly I was not healed from childhood and felt there was no way out.. I am bipolar I was freshly post Postpartum well like a year. No excuse on my half but I have grown so much.. I truly hope he knows how sorry I am about how I handled the entire situation. They have to be willing to look at their actions and how it affected EVERYONE involved and care if they don’t they don’t want to heal and you can’t force it love. I’m truly sorry you went through this.

Ex-friend married her high-school boyfriend despite him emotionally cheated on her 4yrs into dating and she called him out on it. Yet they got married on their 9th anniversary. They've been married for 5-6 years and together 14-15. I think the reasons she stayed cause she was afraid to start over and he groomed her ( allegedly) he was 17-18 and she was 14.
