@omidan_olayinka: Sometimes, the person standing between you and your next opportunity is someone you know, trust, and may even call a friend. And sometimes, they don’t have to lie about you. All they need to do is plant one doubt in the mind of the person who is willing to help you. “Don’t help him.” “I know her very well.” “She will spoil your image.” “Be careful with that person.” And just like that, an opportunity that could have changed someone’s life disappears. Whether you call it spiritual or you simply call it human wickedness, jealousy or sabotage, one thing is certain: why deliberately stand in the way of another person’s favour? You may know something about that person that we don’t know. And yes, sometimes the person being discussed may genuinely have faults. But there is a difference between genuinely protecting someone from harm and deliberately destroying another person’s opportunity because you don’t want them to move forward. The painful part is that some people have no idea how many doors were closed against them by people they trusted. Somebody may have mentioned your name to a potential helper. Someone may have wanted to recommend you. Someone may have seen something in you and wanted to give you a chance. But before that opportunity reached you, someone else had already written your story for them. And this happens more than we realise. So before you become the reason someone loses an opportunity, ask yourself: If this favour was coming to me instead, would I want someone to stand in the way of it? Let people earn or lose opportunities based on their own actions—not because you secretly decided to become the gatekeeper of their destiny.
