Modern alternatives to using these animals now exist for this research. This system protects profit, not lives. But public pressure, whistleblowers, and protests have always led the way to change. Laws can change. Licenses can be revoked. Public support can shift. History is full of practices that were once accepted—until enough people said “no more.” I’m a volunteer with the nonprofit Beagle Lovers And Rescuers, the group behind ongoing investigations and public campaigns to expose Marshall BioResources. WXXI in NY covered our first protest in 2024. A few months later, our founder launched the nonprofit, and we returned to protest this past May in even greater numbers for a powerful three-day protest. It boosted awareness on social media with 100k+ views and still growing. We continue hearing from locals who never this place existed.
