‘All we ever dream of is this torture being over for Tilly, a miracle fix, a smooth recovery and seeing her jump back into life. The part that alway seems so unfair is that every single stage of this journey seems to come with a battle 🛡️.’ We had this post drafted the other night and then Tilly was suddenly rushed into ICU… we weren’t allowed to be with her, so it was a frightening time 😔. Here is an updated version given what has happened since: The biggest update is TILLY is now OUT of ICU 🙏. ‘The most recent challenge has been the classic horse vs zebra 🐎🦓. Once Tilly was discharged from ICU with better potassium levels, the medics expected them to stay up. This is what happens to most patients (too much potassium can also be dangerous) but Tilly’s continued to drop once the IV line was stopped and the whole cycle started again. I always say I wish I had a magic wand to make it all go away and this week I’ve never felt that more 🪄. As watched her writhe for hours, all I could do is what I always do, continue to advocate for her - insisting the potassium drip was readministered and that the pain was better controlled. It is now back up 🙏’ - Mum💛 ‘The incision photo we uploaded in the last post was the smallest of four incisions 🫣. The ones down Tilly’s side and in her abdomen are deep, swollen and raw, making the slightest movement agony. Add to those cramping muscles all over her body - dreadful. I always call Tilly my ‘brave little solider’ and this week she has never epitomised this more.’ - Dad 🧡 ‘Tilly’s Addison’s does throws a whole new level of complex into the mix. Despite a 24 hour steroid perfuser, it has been a balancing act as her body tries to find some sort of stability post-surgery. Every day I ask her the same question ‘What are you going to do?’ and wait for the same answer ‘BEAT IT’ - Fiancé ❤️ ‘I’ve never wavered in my conviction that Tilly is going to get her happy ending but never did I ever foresee just how long this journey would go on and how much one person would have to endure but on the outcome I remain resolute. She WILL get better and she WILL get her life back. Of that I am certain’ - Auntie 💛 Team Tillly 💌 You can help Tilly by supporting her #BePatient campaign, check out this link: https://www.bepatientbook.com One copy has the power to create change! 📘✨🌼💛 . #ehlersdanlos #womenshealth #elhersdanlossyndrome #fyp
