I've nursed all my children and not one doctor or nurse ever mentioned this possibility. I had a clogged duct as well, red breast . I was told to take a hot shower and release breast by hand. This should be talked about if you choose to nurse.

This is so important to share! thank you! my daughter went septic from a Uti at 2 month old. I had ni idea it could happen but Thank God her doctors put her on antibiotics without knowing just in case, that same night while they investigated.

I had a biopsy on a lump in my breast 1 month postpartum (turned out to be benign) and the next day my breast was hot to the touch, bright red, extremely painful, and double the size of my other breast. I had a high fever and chills so I took myself to the er at 3am and was brushed off by a male doctor who said this was very normal. I even questioned him saying I’ve had mastitis and this seems worse.. I left and literally felt like I was going to die.. I ended up going to my OB the next day and sobbed on the drive there and in the waiting room in front of other patients. I couldn’t wear a bra because of the pain and milk just leaked out but I couldn’t pump either.. I lifted my shirt and my doctor walked me over to the hospital and admitted me for 3 days on IV antibiotics… puss poured out of my biopsy site… seeing this video just makes me painfully aware of how close this was to being me

I had a puppy and he slept in the bed with me and his nail stuck me in the thigh and I thought nothing of it until I became extremely ill the next day and my legs swelled up and I couldn't even move it. they were talking about taking my leg until they had an infectious disease doctor come in and basically water my blood down to get the poison out you talking about something so scary I was in the hospital for over a week sedated but if it wasn't for that doctor that they called in I wouldn't have had a leg. to this day and that was 30 years ago I still have problems with my leg because it got cellulitis from that and so now it stopped the lymph fluid from flooring in my leg but thank God I still have a leg and it has it swollen days but I can tolerate that

When my son was 5 weeks old I ended up getting sepsis and went into septic shock and spent 4 days in ICU. I had gotten a uti and thought I was just getting sick from being back to work. Dr told me if I had waited just a few more hours to come in id have died at home next to my baby. Infections are no joke.

Post Partum nurse, here! Mastitis is one topic I cover with all of my patient during discharge teaching! Your video just encouraged me to emphasis the signs and symptoms even more! Thank you for sharing 🫶🏾
