I totally agree we shouldn’t harass or insult or treat hijabis badly in any way. I also think hibajis CAN be feminists themselves. But I do think it’s important to differentiate between people who criticize the women who wear the hijab and the people who criticize the religion. Most religions are inherently patriarchal and very misogynistic. It’s great when hijabis get the choice to wear the hijab out of their own free will, but that doesn’t make the religion itself any less misogynistic.

They can do whatever they want, im not abt to sit here policing women on what they can and cant wear, but i do still think the whole concept of a hijab (same goes with Christian veils) is unfeminist. Women’s bodies are not something unpure in need to be covered up. Following an abrahamic religion (im not very educated on judaism but im working on it) is in my opinion simply conservative and not feminist. That being said, everyone can dress how they‘d like.
