The aligned continuity is held together with hope and prayer, I haven’t played the games but I have read the novels, and yeah they vaguely fit the small bits of the war we see in flashbacks during the show but it feels like two different universes

true the tfp design is highkey mid BUT those transformation throughout the series have an aura that just matches his tfp design. wfc & foc designs are the pinnacle ngl but you cant deny his auraful transformations

i thought it matched his personality well in prime. he was very insecure, constantly needing validation and his dependence on megatron. if he was huge like the concept art i feel he would just be a big cry baby. hes not physically as strong as all the people around him so him seeking there validation makes more sense if he was scrawnier rather than equally as large to his piers/ enemies

They didn't go with that because it didn't suit his character in the slightest. He looked as tough as Megatron in that concept art, when his entire character is being a cowardly traitor with a huge ego. As such, being slim and sharp plays into his shady, frail backstabber character

like his body changing makes no sense. furthermore I thought he was still on cybertron when megs left and why would the decepticons take him back. like it feels wfc/foc megs is a completely different character from tfp megs.

While I admit I still haven’t finished war/fall of cybertron I do think you pointing out that he’s not menacing like the concepts shows that you’re missing the point. since G1, starscream has been pathetic in most roles he’s had, he’s not supposed to be badass,, he’s meant to perfectly fill the power vacuum till megatron can take control again

I think from a character design standpoint, Prime Starscream’s wings being bigger than any of his other designs does a lot to reveal the kind of person he is. They make him appear much bigger and broader than he actually is, which speaks both to his penchant for deception, and his inflated sense of self-importance. Compare that to Megatron, whose silhouette is just his body. He embodies the power Starscream wants to make everyone think he’s worthy of. His wings actually make him almost as tall and broad as Megatron, which I think does two things. It shows how Starscream both wants to be perceived, and that he will always be stuck in Megatron’s shadow.

I think I heard this from somewhere but they didn't continue with the concept art because (like you said) he looks menacing in his beefed-up frame and wanted to tone it down so that Megatron would look a lot LOT more scary? Same reason why Starscreams built like a triangle in bayverse

I just headcanoned they can just alter their bodies in the Aligned universe because all of them had their bodies changed between the games and Prime, and some even changed between War and Fall.
