@alsadeekalsadouk: A fascinating provincial bronze coin struck at Caesarea Maritima during the reign of Domitian (AD 81–96). The obverse presents the radiate head of Domitian facing right, wearing the aegis, surrounded by the Latin imperial titulature IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P XI. The reverse features a palm tree, a powerful regional symbol in Judaea, accompanied by the inscription IMP XXI COS XVI CENS P P P. Issued in AD 92, this 26 mm bronze belongs to Group 3a of Domitian’s provincial Judaean coinage, with an average weight of 15.17 g. Struck at Caesarea Maritima, the principal Roman administrative center of the province, the coin illustrates how Roman imperial authority was expressed through local provincial coinage while incorporating imagery closely associated with the region.
