This is the classic determinist response to free will. It should also be noted that if there is no prior cause, then still no freedom bc action not determined by you. Rather, action just happened to be that way. Hence a logical dichotomy (cause=determined, no cause=random). Genuine freedom requires some form of self-determination, which is generally accepted to be incoherent. But I think the more interesting question is that if freedom of choice is an illusion, then what makes belief in it so ubiquitous across time and space? Will try to answer this in another video.
