🇨🇳 China’s eVTOL industry, seen from the inside. I recently spent several days travelling through Shanghai, Wuxi and Kunshan, visiting some of the companies developing China’s next generation of electric and autonomous aircraft. And the biggest takeaway? The pace of development is extraordinary. We visited InFlyNC, including its L600 ducted tilt-wing eVTOL; Range Aviation and its lift-and-cruise programme; TCab Tech and the E20 tiltrotor; AutoFlight, where we saw its V2000 family and flight-test operations; and MuYu Sky, developing heavy-lift electric and hybrid cargo aircraft. These aren’t just glossy renders of what might exist one day. We saw aircraft. We saw them fly. We met the engineers. We visited test and manufacturing facilities. And we discussed what it will take to bring some of these technologies into Europe. After almost a decade working around Advanced Air Mobility, I came away from China convinced of one thing: The next generation of aviation is arriving faster than many people realise.
