my koro passed recently and when my mum wouldn't take me to hospital cause she thought I was faking he called the hospital and I ended up having pneumonia and something else that could've killed my nerves in my body and luckily I was put on the same floor and one room away from him in the hospital I was staying at cause he had both his legs amputated and an infection somewhere in his body but I only stayed in hospital for 1 night and my koro came to my room thay day and we had a nice chat and he didn't look like he was sick at all and the next day arrived and I heard people singing waiatas down the hallway and I didn't know what it was for than my mum called me and told me the news that he had passed and I ran out with my crutches and found all my auntys and uncles surrounding him and I just dropped to ground, I hadn't seen him in 3 months and I was the last person to see him and I loved him so much, he looked after me my whole life and he's who I want to be

my papa looked after me for 6 years cause my dad was in Australia he technically was my childhood and he would always take us on a ride to go throw the net in waiuku and let us hop in the back of his ute and he would go slow cause he didn’t want us getting hurt and he would always give us money when he knows he’s struggling he will starve just to feed us knowing that we’ll be good when we grow up and I’m gonna repay him every cent every food he’s given me and he’s even helped me when I was really sick and he would take really good care of me cause he’s the best papa and he always knows what’s good and what’s bad for me.💛

My koro was a builder and though he was against buying us toys he would build us our very own tree house, playhouse and our own tables, he would rebuild all of our things that went broken, his love for us was tough but we understood his love was overprotectiveness when i was younger i hated years passed by i grew up and fully understand why he was the way he was, he taught us strength he taught us to protect ourselves cause he knew he couldn’t be around forever to save us its been 2 years without him
