@thepottymouthguru: Find the feeling in your body. Get curious about it. Learn where it lives and what it feels like. Then use that sensation as your anchor point, the little internal alarm that tells you that ok, “I’m getting activated. I can stop here and choose a different response.” That’s how you start catching defensiveness before it takes the fucking wheel. ❤️🤟🏻🌿 #UNFUCKYOURSELF #THEPOTTYMOUTHGURU #Defensiveness #SomaticTherapy #NervousSystem
Your body usually knows you’re getting defensive before your mouth does. 😂 Learn your tell. That little sensation can become the moment where you go, oh fuck, there it is — pivot. ❤️🤟🏻🌿

question: if you say "I'm getting defensive, can I try that again?" and the person in front of you says "no, you can't" or they use that "you're getting defensive" later to dismiss you, how do we handle that?

Aaaaannnd, how to respond, in a healthy way, to the defensive triggered person through the process? How do we help?

Off topic but I love the pink/burgundy eye makeup look on you! You should try a burgundy mascara if you haven’t already 😌

Honestly the break items never make sense to me. A question I do have is how to toe the line between rumination and actually getting better. I tend to have a lot of pent up feelings, some suppressed even. When I feel sad I worry I'm just teaching myself to be sad all the time, like am I wiring my brain to be prone to sadness? And there's the thoughts of what if it'll never end, the deepness of that well feels so bottomless, etc. I know it has a bottom but I also know wallowing can be a trap too, what's the balance? And I have no clue how to handle anger yet.
