@cgtnamerica: For fishermen in Gaza, simply going to sea has become increasingly difficult and dangerous. In Gaza City, many say motorized boats, nets and other fishing equipment have been destroyed or are no longer available, forcing some crews to rely on small rowboats that are exhausting to operate and bring back only a fraction of their former catches. Fishermen say they are at a constant risk of gunfire, injury, arrest or detention when they venture out, with families waiting on shore for their safe return. The collapse of the sector has hit an industry that, before the war, provided a livelihood for more than 6,000 Palestinians and served as an important source of food and income for families along Gaza’s coast.
