Hey! I build these production systems for sports events. It’s not AI in the traditional sense. We use a technique called Gaussian Splatting. You’re right that we take 2 points, and a computer fills in the transition. But it’s more like how google street view works, building a 360 degree “map” from reference images. We technically could do these transitions in near-real-time already, but the FIA still manage all the live feeds, so we don’t have the control we’d need. Watch this space though!

it's completely unnecessary. No one ever complained the old broadcast was too difficult to watch because switching between static cameras and TV pod on the car. it's gone too far and it needs to stop

I hate the pause between the ai going to the halo cam and it spending up again, just ruins the flow of the car that should be showing how quick it is
