Lots of plants are good to seed in the fall! They’ll come up in the spring. I’d just buy a nice native wildflower and grass seed mix and you should have a beautiful meadow vibe in a year or two. Especially if you do the cardboard trick

If you have any cardboard from old boxes, put it down before you mulch, and it’ll help combat the weeds even more!

Plant sea grass. It is no maintenance except watering and it's impossible to kill. It moves so beautifully.

You can plant bulbs that will come up next year but there’s late summer / early fall flowers, grasses and plants. Just go to one of your local garden spots & they’re usually pretty helpful and what is available should be fine to plant now.
