@gillieandmarcart: Najin and her daughter Fatu are the last two northern white rhinos on the planet. We were incredibly fortunate to spend time with them at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya, and standing beside these magnificent animals knowing they are the very last of their kind is something we will never forget. But their story may not be over. Scientists are fighting to save the northern white rhino through IVF, using eggs from Fatu and frozen sperm from deceased males to create embryos, with the hope that southern white rhino surrogate mothers could one day give birth to northern white rhino calves. 39 pure northern white rhino embryos have now been created. It is an extraordinary race against extinction and a reminder of why we created our sculptures of Najin and Fatu: to tell their story, keep the world looking, and make sure we never stop fighting for the animals we still have a chance to save. Two rhinos left. 39 embryos. And hope that this might not be the end. ❤️🦏
