His C-Walk had already become one of the most recognizable parts of his stage presence, and every step stayed locked to the beat. WC, pronounced “Dub C,” had already spent more than a decade in Los Angeles hip-hop by this point. He started in Low Profile, went on to form WC and the Maad Circle, then joined Ice Cube and Mack 10 in Westside Connection. The group’s 1996 debut album “Bow Down” reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and was later certified platinum. The “Up in Sm*ke” Tour was as stacked as rap tours got in 2000. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Eminem led the lineup, with WC, Mack 10, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, D12 and others appearing throughout the show. The July 20 concert in Worcester, Massachusetts was filmed for the official tour movie, preserving performances from the run for a much wider audience.
