Unfortunately a lot of uk therapists can be bought easily. When I was younger and was being abused and tortured, I had a therapist who tried to tell me that it would be worse to report it or to leave that house for my mental health, and that what I was going through was normal. My parent later admitted he had payed the therapist off. If you are in therapy in the uk, and someone abusing you has contact with the therapist, you need to be super careful.

It's quite bad when therapists recommends no contact. They will try their best to never get there. My therapist got to the same point with my dad. And I could actually see her uncomfortable with saying it. Was kinda surreal.

My uncle gave a horrible speech at my cousin’s wedding (father of the groom). He went on and on about how my cousin was head over heels for this girl and then says “but it wasn’t the bride!” And then talked about how the bride had a huge crush on the groom for years and he wasn’t interested, and how it was so extreme, he thought my cousin might be gay. I got up to get a drink from across the room about half way through because it was so bad (this was like a 10 min speech) and my other cousins’ kid goes “oh my god, is grandpa STILL talking” and I almost collapsed from laughter cause that was the funniest comment. The sound guy then cut out his microphone, and my uncle proceeded to just yell the rest of his speech and it was just as loud 😭😭😭

The cousin pay for the therapy to make him feel and look better. I know an affair partner who play nice like this, telling the 'husband' she wanted to help brought the 'wife' to a therapist and pay for it. It was never happen, but they talked about it to people just to make her look better.
