My step mom’s step dad passed and the casket alone was 8 grand and some change…it was the most beautiful casket I’ve ever seen but like holy moly 8 grand????

Most of us want cremated now a days. Think about it … after 2 generations ( maybe ) your name will be said for the last time. My grandkids will share stories about us to their kids . After that our names and US will never be thought of again. Just make me dust in the wind. I don’t want to be cremated and have a family member lugging my ashes around. What happens to the ashes after they pass ? Like just throw me away lol

I've told my husband and kids when I die just cremated me. I don't want a funeral I don't hang out with anyone now I don't want people coming to look at me in my urn when I'm dead.

Cremate me, buy an urn off the internet or toss my ashes. Don’t put my ashes in a cemetery, that’s a stupid expense. You don’t have to pay that much for a funeral.

I said just to cremate me, do an open bar and apps for close friends and family with a fire millennial playlist and then when my dog passes, cremate him and release our ashes at the Ocean Beach dog beach in San Diego

yep..my papa died outta nowhere (for the most part) & well, bro had NOTHING prepared. my dad was his only child so it was on us. my nanny saw that & immediately made all sort of preparations for her death (it's okay she's never dying) so we wouldn't have to do that again

I told my kids spend as little as possible. No wake. No funeral. Nobody stuck around while I was alive so nobody needs to pay any respects because they have none anyway. Cremate me and do whatever you want with the ashes. No obituary either. When my dad passed in 2014 it cost $600 for an obituary.

If you stick to the belief that you must be embalmed, have a funeral service in a funeral home, and be buried, yes, they are expensive. The 2 most predatory industries are wedding and funeral. For my mom, we did direct cremation (NOT through a traditional funeral home) and I bought her urns on Amazon. She wanted a marker but didnt care about being interred, so I bought a cremation spot at a cemetery and ordered her marker. All of that together was $3200 ish.

That’s why I’m being cremated. And don’t even have a service. Go to the park and have a picnic. Spread my ashes or keep them in the urn I’ll buy on Amazon 🤣

I will tell you, my child died in the ICU and the hospital paid for the cremation. We paid for the funeral Mass and luncheon so his funeral was under $1000. (The hospital should have paid for that too, not being able to keep him alive…)

We just had our dad cremated through a place the hospital suggest. Then we rented a little place at this park and did a little family party and that was less than $2500. We did have to pay a little more for cremation because he was large and in charge so that was an extra fee. Besides that it was pretty cheap.
