I am absolutely in love with Chicago BUT if you want to make a career switch at any point that is more creative/social, New York will be the better option. A lot of my friends are in New York but talk of moving to Chicago eventually. I say go for it for a few years and then come to Chicago! I could see you there 😃

My oldest daughter graduated from MSU in '25 and is currently in Jersey City right across from NYC - she absolutely LOVES it but it is REALLY expensive!

Applied to a job in Charleston the week after graduation and then a month later was moved in! Literally the best decision I’ve ever made I swear by just moving without any hesitation because you can easily move back (or somewhere else)!!

No. You can still get a little NY in Chicago but IL is AWFUL. Go south. Tampa or Miami or even Dallas.
