@jasmineforok: THIS is why lived experience matters. You cannot keep governing people from a HIGH HORSE, reading about their lives in a report and assuming you understand what they need. You have to GO. SEE. LISTEN. I’m a nurse. I walked into that hospital and immediately started assessing… What do they have? What are they missing? What are the workers experiencing? What are patients experiencing? Where are the gaps? And what resources already exist that we could connect? That’s what representation is supposed to look like. Stop guessing about Oklahoma from a book, a boardroom, or a political bubble. Go talk to the damn people living it. But we’re worried about teachers having kitty litter or gender reaffirming care in classrooms?? Do you see how stupid that sounds?? This is why lived experience matters. This is why representation matters. And this is why we need people in office who actually understand WTF is going on in Oklahoma.
