I just go on Amazon and search random gift lists 😂 I buy once a month. I’m mildly annoyed that Amazon doesn’t let you search by city. I’m in Calgary and I’d rather get for a fellow Calgarian. But eh, I just type in my favourite name for the day and if someone pops up and I like their list I buy something for them.

when my kids were all under 7 my husband lost his job right before Christmas when I was off work due to an injury that required surgery and I made a post in a group saying that I was looking to make extra money by wrapping gifts for people to get my kids at least a few gifts each. a bunch of women I barely knew but was in a small Facebook group with got together and and played secret Santa. one of them was friends with a friend and had my friend send her the kids Christmas lists I had put pictures of for my in laws and parents to see the kind of stuff they wanted. they got everything on each kids list plus a bunch of extra things, they also bought everything for a huge Christmas dinner. I cried so hard when they pulled up to the house and started unloading bags and bags of things. it was the nicest thing to ever happen to me

Contact local homeless shelters and see if they have like a young moms program you can donate to. Too difficult to weed out individuals.

Lol my husband and I bought and delivered groceries to a supposed “family in need” and when we pulled up there were two brand new cars in the driveway. We sat in silence and disbelief for a good minute or two lol

I used to visit a nursing home in ON a lot and at Christmas time the staff had a tree out with wishlist items written down on paper ornaments for residents. They wanted thing like socks, magazines, makeup. Broke my heart, honestly. We forget about our seniors too and their numbers are only growing. 💔

There is a good Facebook group called "helping our northern neighbours" which helps families in the far north of Canada where cost of living is quite a bit more expensive.

I'm canadian too. I would suggest looking at homes for unwed moms. its mostly teen moms that actually need help. I was in one in the 90s and it would have helped so much.

Also watch people at the shopping store. See who is buying like 1 baby diapers small or 1 small tin of formula. Then offer to pay for a few extra.
