X-rays showed no fracture, but she has significant muscle atrophy in her shoulder and right front leg. Unfortunately, DAS reports that a right front-leg amputation will be needed to allow her to live comfortably. Despite all of this, Bailey remains incredibly sweet and resilient. ❤️ During her 9/11 daycation, Bailey: 🐾 Loved lounging around the house 🐾 Was potty trained with no accidents indoors 🐾 Enjoyed having a yard to sniff 🐾 Pulled/excited on leash 🐾 Was timid at first but warmed up 🐾 Was curious and playful when she saw cats 🐾 Calmed down nicely in the home Her volunteer described her as wonderful and best suited for a quiet household with a backyard where she can spend hours sniffing. 🥹 She was also social and tolerant in playgroup, calmly allowing the other dogs to greet her. Her playgroup assessment was Social / Dainty & Gentle. Bailey is also heartworm positive, adding another medical need on top of her orthopedic condition. But none of that has changed the sweet girl underneath it all.
