the overture with canons is fun, but have you ever heard of the orchestral piece from Leroy Anderson called "The Typewriter". it is a short nodd to the classical concert and features a full orchestra and a mechanical typewriter as the solo instrument

Didnt know what the 1812 Overture was and went to look it up…😳 THIS WHOLE TIME I thought the cannon fire bit in movies were a comedic/cool little piece. That was how it was supposed to be originally?!? 🤣🤣

I got to hear overture of 1812 performed by the 77th Army Band at Ft. Sill one year and they did it in conjunction with Howitzere from the FA guys. It was pretty damn cool
