you need to lay down the rules and the consequences for not following the rules.. and most important FOLLOW THROUGH with it. They need structure and consistency. You only have one chance to raise them to grow up and be a responsible member of society. If you do not raise them properly than the rest of the world has to deal with asshole adults because they had no discipline from you. If they tell you that you are mean, you turn around and thank them because that means you are doing your job. My son has even gotten to the point that he thanked me later in life for being a mean mom.. he understands it now.

They won’t expect you to do anything about their bad behavior, so when you actually of it, follow through they will see you’re not putting up with the bs anymore. Put your foot down, and don’t let them get their way when they’re in trouble. No matter what. Kids needs discipline, they need authority and if not, this is what happens.

Mind set. They are not your little babies, They are mini adults learning to become responsible, respectable, accountable adults and you are the one in charge to make that happen.

They’re his babies too 🥺❤️😂 let him be dad and be the parent and step dad to help you out - it might be hard but worth it. Stay on top of it and stay in charge

sometimes the girls need to be yelled at to actually understand and feel bad about their actions, when you come in and save them nothing you just worked on did anything, because you’re coming to “save the day” for them everytime

So ok I love you always have but do you want them to raise themselves? Stop getting in the middle when he’s disciplining them. He’s their father he needs to do it if you can’t. You either do it now or never they’re getting older now soon they’re gonna be to old to switch that type of behavior in their brain. Stand up and do it girl I know you can. You stand up to these people all the time on here this is their future u can do it. ❤️

what I did, was make them do something constructive, instead of yelling and being big bad dad. I’ll make them write sentences or take away devices and make them do something constructive together - like team working a task. I feel like scaring them into trouble makes them try to hide stuff or they focus on the fact they’re being yelled at. But it is hard , easier said than done for sure. I hope things get better for you ! 🤞

If you don’t teach them action having firm consequences now, they will struggle IMMENSELY in the real world. You have to remind yourself that you’re not just raising your babies; you are raising future adults. Setting them up for success in life IS NOT being a “mean mom”. Coddling them is doing them a disservice. I know your intentions come from

my step kids came to me at 8 and 5. they never had discipline until they came to me. there now almost 11 and 8. it took about two years to get it not as bad but there’s still learning to do bc there’s kids. you just have to start it out as like doing chores and getting rewarded. things like that. being grounded for a week if they did something bad. just have to stop yourself not to give in. it’s HARD. show them that your done giving in and mom is over it.but if you don’t want them to walk all over you. start it now as there still little. it as takes time.

you just start, there is no right way to change a patenting style when youve been doing it one way for so long. Prepare and expect it to be a hard af first few weeks of you sticking to it. its gonna be hard for them and you to adjust. anytime they get grounded and you forget and they get whatever it is theyr grounded from you take it immediately and add another day to the grounding because they are old enough to know better too they take full advantage of you forgetting and thats normal with kids. this is what I had to do with my daughter and the first few weeks she hated me and I hated it but now we are good again and she listens 🥰 I hope this helps in some way girl. your not a bad mom!

You admitting your faults is a great start mama!! I'm proud of you for that now it's time to buckle down. Remember how you raise them does determine (to a certain extent) the type of adults they grow into. Boundaries and routines ARE mandatory. I feel soo guilty putting my kids in their place but we have to remember if we don't someone will as in adult and they can't think that they can't run all over any and everyone. If they know they can't run do so with you they will think it's that way with everyone and before you know it it turns into problems in their teenage years and adulthood. STAND YOUR GROUND!! You are an amazing mom and a strong ass woman. You know what's best now just follow through with it. My best advice is start now and stay stern then when the situation is at a middle ground and "handled" let them know why you are being "mean" (not actually mean just stern but in their eyes you know how it goes😅) communication is soo big and that will more then likely be one of the hardest parts because they won't want to and probably lack understanding in the beginning but once you get that understanding down and a routine going everyone will be happier🩷

Here’s an idea!! You and hubby go on a date talk about this between the two of you come up with a plan that works best for the both of you! You need to be a team right now that team is broken and your girls know and continue to divide that team if you don’t come up with a plan together! Just know when you are yelling, grounding, or taking devices away your doing it because of things they are doing or not doing! Hopefully this will help you out! You guys will figure it out, there’s no good handbook out there about parenting you learn firsthand!

Rule number one whatever comes out of the first parents mouth in regards to punishment is what is going to happen do not back track you can disagree with what the other parent says in private but you’ve shown them they can pit you against each other.

The biggest thing is you just have to follow through no matter how hard it is if it means you have to step back and let your husband get onto them and that’s what it means and I know it’s hard but you can do it. Take away all of the electronics. Do not let them go outside to play. Give them chores to do. Such as dishes or sweeping or folding some laundry something! It will get better. My daughter just turned 14 and we have some issues with attitude, but she’s also gotten to a point where she helps around the house a lot more and does what is ass of her when it comes to her laundry or dishes or anything like that! You got this Momma
