You had me up until the plot twist. I agree the bride is 100% responsible for paying for damages and she should have never put the friend/bridesmaid through that. Get even with her in court not only paying for damages but also your attorney fees and throw in some extra for your mental stress over this…however, that being said I think the bridesmaid brought herself down to an unsavory level by dating the ex-groom. Girl code says you never date an ex of one of your friends. Also, take into account that she said that there was always a “spark” between her and the groom and therefore I don’t think she should have accepted the invitation to be a bridesmaid under the circumstances. There are millions of men out there in the world so why is it necessary to go after one of your friend’s exes?

Wow, everyone sucks in this situation! Groom dumps bride on her Bachelorette, bride trashes place, bridesmaid swoops in on the groom. No one comes out looking good. No one sounds like a good friend or partner in this.
