@pray4dom: The wheelchair has been an ongoing problem since we arrived in Palo Alto. Weeks of adjustments, pain, positioning problems and therapy time spent trying to make the equipment work. These are some of the photos I took along the way to document what I was seeing. Through all of it, Dominic keeps pushing forward. #blueXmaryland #pray4dom #tbisurvivor #builtfrombroken #vapolytrauma
Are they going to order him a custom chair? They made one for Randy. Also, I’m so sorry about the OT there. Send me her name if you’re comfortable. I’m sure some of them have changed since we were there but we had one we loved and one Randy wasn’t happy with.

Has he used Broda Chairs? It’s hard to tell in the pics since they can look different.

I’m sorry I missed it on this- is he at a VA hospital (rehab)- this sucks hearing all that you are going through. Too bad you couldn’t get someone to advocate for you better like someone from the VA to do all of the leg work. My daughter just had brain surgery three months ago - if that therapist continues to give you guys hell- request someone else! Don’t stand for this, this seems all ridiculous. You all deserve the absolute best, especially since he is considered military.

So happy he getting a fitted chair. I said the same thing today. Why don’t they know how to seat someone injured blows my mind. I hope that helps him be more comfortable and have some joy!

I know you want him close to home but look into BAMC and The center for the intrepid in San Antonio.

Keep fighting. This angers me on so many levels. He deserves better. Anyone in this position deserves better. He needs rehab. He can’t get stronger without it. This makes me so angry for you. When my daughter became paralyzed we were at an amazing children’s hospital and even they couldn’t get her a wheelchair. She was 2 years old. How do you not have things like that for people. I just don’t get it.

to me what is scary is that if a therapist was supposed to know this stuff doesn’t realize this it seems like incompetence. And if the time they’re gonna be working with him, they’re only dealing with the wheelchair then he’s losing all that time of therapy thank God that you are there to watch over everything.

I wish we could all come together and afford you guys the opportunity to travel out of country. There are countries that would go above and beyond for Dom.

I’ve been checking periodically for updates and just got caught up. So happy to see such progress! God is good! Sorry for the continual issues with his care. Keep advocating on his behalf. I know it can seem exhausting, but his progress to this point is due to your advocacy. I’ll continue to pray for Dom and your family. Looking forward to seeing more milestones as he rehabs. Thank you for sharing his story and journey.

My best friend is on her third month in the hospital suffering from the same exact scenario as your son. It’s crazy how the world brings you reassurance. I’m sorry you’re going through this but they are alive! It only goes uphill from here❤️
