Ts makes me so sad. I’m apparently Native American… but my grandmother faced horrific racism, so bad that she made my dads birth certificate say Caucasian to give him “a better chance at life” despite him being visibly Mexican/native. She grew up in an orphanage and she never would talk about her heritage, she doesn’t like it being brought up either. I’m mixed white, Mexican, and Native American- but I feel like a culture vulture when I try to identify as native- it’s my genes but I was cut off from the culture before I was even born…
