@mamajanefromborneo1: #diarywithmak #dementiacaregiver While I was busy with chores and the contractor doing the job, I passed by mak sitting alone in her favorite corner, sobbing. I stopped and asked her what happened and why she was crying. She replied that she was feeling so sad and regretted giving birth to many children, yet I am the one struggling to take care of her despite not being well myself. She further said that if she ever does not wake up in the morning, I should just let her be, as she would rather die than feel this sad. If I cannot handle her funeral alone, she asked me to throw her corpse into the river and let the fish eat her. I tried to calm her down and convinced her that I will try my level best to take care of her within my capacity🙏 #sharewiththosewhocares Ps: As a dementia caregiver, one of the hardest tasks I face is helping my mak understand certain things, like why her other children and grandchildren never visit or call. I have tried reasoning with her and even lying, by saying they are busy with work and will call or visit when they are free. Those who have been dementia caregivers will truly understand this struggle 😭
