@lila.menopause.su: These 10 foods sneak into “healthy” diets all the time… and the label doesn’t always tell the whole story. The good news? There’s an easy swap or portion check for every one. 1. Flavored yogurt Try plain Greek yogurt with berries. Check added sugar on the label. 2. Granola / granola bars Check the portion, fiber and added sugar. Granola can be a topping rather than the whole bowl. 3. Fruit juice Eat the whole fruit when you want the fiber too. 4. Alcohol Try an alcohol-free evening, especially if sleep has been rough. 5. Oversized portions of “healthy” fats Avocado, nuts, nut butter and olive oil can all fit. The portion still counts. 6. “Sugar-free” foods Look past that one claim. Check the whole label and choose foods that actually satisfy you. 7. Store-bought smoothies Check the size and ingredients. At home, try milk or soy milk, fruit, greens and a protein source. 8. Dried fruit Pour a portion into a bowl instead of eating straight from the bag. 9. Whole-wheat bread Choose whole-grain, fiber-rich bread you enjoy. Bread doesn’t need to be off-limits. 10. Flavored coffee creamers Check added sugar. A splash of milk or an unsweetened alternative is a simple swap. Keep the foods you enjoy. Rethink the serving or the add-ons. If the sticking point is the foods you enjoy after a grocery swap, give yourself some practical help. Search Lila in the App Store: it can build meals around foods you enjoy instead of leaving you with a blank “what’s for dinner?” page. Save this so you don’t have to remember it all today. 💜 #perimenopause #foodswaps #over40
