@build_in_public: This is pretty devious. Go buy a domain from Expired Domains. Check on Wayback Machine. Make sure the site is relevant to your website. Rebuild the expired domain you just bought. That includes adding the content. So you're making this expired domain you just bought match what you see on Wayback Machine. Force index the rebuilt expired domain using IndexChex. Send cheap niche edits to it. You can just build easy backlinks to this site. Once this starts ranking for your keywords, then and only then, add a homepage link to your site. Make it natural plus contextually relevant. Now run traffic through that backlink from whatever source you like, Facebook ads, Reddit ads, whatever you want. See what it does to your site. Important to note, this is a black hat SEO tactic. Don't you have to register the domains with different email addresses? I read somewhere that Google is good at identifying collections of nodes, like domains, associated with each other based on where, who registered them, along with many other factors.
