The Falls is my hometown :) They manage the erosion through diverting the water to the hydroelectric plant. I used to be a tour guide at the Falls and at the time it was approx 5cm erosion per year, or about 1 foot every decade.

The lake eerie basin is so big if you stretched it into a 1km wide trough it could nearly wrap around the whole earth

I worked on the Maid of the Mist for two summers in high school. It’s that sight seeing boat that literally goes to the base of the waterfall.
