@youarereality: there is a difference between being sincere about life and taking every part of life personally. the ego turns temporary events into statements about itself. success becomes “what does this prove about me?”, failure becomes “what does this say about me?”, another person’s opinion becomes something that threatens an identity. suddenly a passing moment carries the weight of your entire story. seriousness gives the ego density because it makes the character feel like the centre of everything happening. my reputation, my future, my mistakes, my image, my problems. none of those things have to be denied, but the suffering begins when every changing circumstance gets absorbed into the identity you believe yourself to be. what happened yesterday becomes who you are today. this is why children can reveal something adults slowly forget. they can feel something fully without immediately turning it into a permanent self concept. the emotion moves, the moment changes, and life continues. awareness itself is much more spacious than the identities, stories and reactions constantly moving through it. the deeper you recognise that, the less every temporary event needs to become a definition of you. self realisation does not make you indifferent to life. it lets you participate more completely because you are no longer using every experience to defend and reinforce the ego. you become lighter, not because nothing matters, but because you stop pretending every passing moment is the whole of what you are. if you’re ready to see through the ego making life heavier than it needs to be, The Self-Realization System is in the link in bio. #consciousness #nonduality #esoteric #awakening #youarereality
