Now I’m thinking the kid might’ve been the one who 💀 Hal. That last pep talk with Zoe, plus the fact that he could get close to Hal because Hal is attracted to the sheriff, makes me suspicious. And he’s fully grown by 2026 and possibly an upgraded Manhunter created by Zoe.

I love the fact that John chose his own destiny. He knew his worth after seeing what kind of person Hal became in order to keep the ring. When he chooses what makes him happy, it shows how much he has gained his independence from his parents and the guardians. Being blindly obedient at first, to gaining his own independence and walk away in the end, John ultimately won.
