Dam!!! You just Killed Them All!!! That one sentence answered everyone! What u said, "If you have to put on gloves to apply a Chemical to Someone's hair, it is DAMAGING!!! If a Licensed Cosmetologist cannot tell you that, rather your hair breaks or not, should not be in your head. Educating the client before you proceed is what makes u a professional!!! Don't use the word, "IF." It is what it is!! Thank You for being honest, and that it the main reason they talk negative about u. I love it AfrikanHairGod!! Keep Educating us, an im not a natural.

I tell my clients this all the time. Any chemical service is damaging the hair. If you’re going to get color you gotta invest money into taking care of it. But yes any chemical service is damaging.

This is the reason why vetting your stylist is so crucial! They will use their “license” to act as if chemical products, heat, or mechanical damage isn’t a risk. Most stylists are thinning your hair.

My stylist used to always tell me hair color was damaging. I would beg for her to do and she said “ why so your hair can be in this comb then in the trash “ 🥴… I was hard headed , died it myself then subsequently it was in the trash like she said 🙂↕️

It can and it will damage! But as long as that’s what the client asked .. it’s the stylist job to help maintain the health of the hair at its colored state

regardless dye breaks down the hair. it has to break the hair down in order for it to penetrate to get the desired color!!

I have low porosity coloured hair. All the products I use in my hair are to counteract the damage I do to it by colouring it. Otherwise I would have no hair left.

I dye my hair once every 6 years or so bc of this and my hair stylist always reminds me of the extra effort it takes to care for colored hair. My curl pattern looks the same but the dyed parts feel so rough, it’s very obviously damaged.
