As someone with advanced degrees, I can say for certain that there are plenty of people with lots of formal education and zero common sense. However, that’s not what most people mean by “over-educated.” What they usually mean is that they feel stupid and are making that a you problem instead of a them problem.

Was just talking to my boyfriend about how I grew up and they stressed the importance of reading like my school built whole contests surrounding reading and I got my AR points. To go from encouraging reading to book banning in my life time is fucking wild.
