The taxes I pay as a non resident, including for public primary school is astronomical. Still, I want to be here and am happy to pay . Still waiting on our residency Visa…..getting a bit worried.

Thank you 🙏. I am a migrant. I came on 2004 as a political refugee through UN resettlement program in 2004, with nothing but my bachelor degree. I have PhD in Sociology from ANU. I have 4 kids. My daughter is a doctor GP, my three boys : two are construction engineers and one has a Master degree in economics and international finance. Not all migrants stay on social welfare and gov. Housing.

students pay the most expensive visa price in the world, pay tax higher than Australia if they are working, pay a full price in any course + consume, food, cafes, culture. It's basic math.

these politicians need to understand that international students are paying for the local students. without them the whole subsidised fee for locals is gone, even the universities won't be able to sustain and close one by one

Immigrants are easy targets everywhere! Because they don’t have say! Housing problem~ immigrants, grocery prices ~immigrants, property prices ~immigrants. If you go to restaurants, hospitals, Aged care, Disability, constructions sites, farm, supermarkets, warehouses, consultancy firms, mining sites, FiFO, Truckers, etc… 60-70% are temporary visa holders. Imagine pulling out those, and see the Aussie lives getting better! Imagine the tax contributions by these workers. Overall economy contribution by immigrants is huge!
