R is for… ROUND! 🔵👯 #ABCPrintingChallenge @juliawoning used the 12-inch Round Gelli Arts® Gel Plate to create a stunning piece of art featuring her iconic ladies. Julia created a print with a laser printer from her own artwork. By combining, cutting, and arranging different elements, she created the perfect composition before transferring the image onto the gel plate using black ARA Acrylics. After allowing the transfer to dry completely, the magic of reverse painting began! Layer by layer, Julia painted the artwork from the back, carefully building up the details of the eyes, makeup, highlights, shadows, and different skin tones. Every layer was allowed to dry fully before adding the next one. Next came the beautiful pink tones, followed by texture and movement in the hair created with the Gelli Arts® Comb Tool. After another drying period, a layer of yellow was added to bring even more richness and depth to the piece. The final step was adding a layer of white acrylic paint and beautiful Baohong Master Watercolor Paper – Hot Press. And then… the reveal! 😍 💡 Julia’s tip: Great gel printing takes time. Allowing each layer to dry completely is the secret to achieving beautiful, detailed results.
