What is going on with my girl? She’s 11. These “incidences” started a few years ago. I call them nightmares, but I don’t actually know what’s happening. She wakes up from sleeping, she jumps, cries, calls out for me, but can’t seem to understand me, hear me, or communicate with me. I’ve tried holding her with pressure but she doesn’t like it, and I’ve tried gently shaking her face or shoulders to get to “wake up” but that doesn’t seem to bring her to reality. These incidences last about 5-10 minutes and then she crashes. It’s always in the wee hours of the morning. This one was at 5am. I’ve brought this up to her pediatrician and he didn’t seem to think it was something that needed to be looked further into. This is the first time I’ve ever caught it on camera. She does have a therapist I will bring this up to and will show her the video. Does anyone have experiences with this? Are these night terrors? Sleep walking? Nightmares? PANDAS?
