Also saw a BookToker who got annoyed daw that a lot of people were reading synopses in between the aisles given the crowd situation, but like… that’s how book fairs are supposed to be. You have to check if a book actually interests you before buying it. Ppl aren’t there to just pick up random books then leave? We were robbed and/or villainized of the book fair experience 😌

And the scalpers, resellers HOARDING. They need to be putting limits in place for purchase. Theyre saying it’s all about the sales but considering the individual buyers who went I don’t think they’ll have issues on selling their stocks!

So true though - the Fullybooked and NBS booths were literal BEDLAM. I went the evening of Day 2 and thankfully, it was a little calmer than I was used to (i've been going to MIBF for years now and that was the calmest I have ever been being there) but when I went on Sunday for NBS' book signing event? Sweet Lord. It was ANARCHY. And the thing is, the people I kept bumping into were actually nice, you know? Nagso-sorry sila and they were looking for books, pero napaka rami lang talaga ng tao.

I brought my younger siblings because I remember thoroughly enjoying MIBF years ago. We braved through the traffic and lack of parking in hopes that they could find books to get immersed in. Instead, naging SARDINAS kami hahahaha (no books bought too cos of poor logistics)

A lot of publishers gave out free tickets, printable online, but the onus is still on the organizers. You can’t blame publishers for giving away tickets kasi the amount they charge for booths is astronomical 💔

TRUE!!!! This is my first time going again after pandemic and I was so surprised na ang daming tao, halos hindi maka-daan! I went there to buy discounted law books but even there, may mga naghohoard and now selling it online for thrice its amount! SHAME!

this happens every fucking year!! nakakainis bcs fullybooked was packed as hell like dikit dikit na talaga and you can’t even reach yung ibang books na mga nasa baba na kasi pwede kang matamaan esp your head :(((

i knew that was gonna happen when i saw them giving away SO MANY tickets 🥹 it’s nice that the ticket is super affordable but it’s also very evident that they’re just trying to squeeze in as much people as they can without thinking about overcrowding/crowd control

If they could only ban, or if only there's a way to ban resellers. Give it a week or two, they're on tiktok selling the books they bought during the MIBF

May they make a policies in the future that says > 1 copy of books per person > limited people (based on how many the venue can withstand or their capacity) per day. Setting scheduled tix can help with this so much😭🥹 > Longer duration of the event (para ma iwasan yung overpopulation)

++ Sobrang daming scalpers or resellers 😭 Last year halos ganun karami rin tao esp nung weekends idk why hindi nila in-address yung issue 😭 Ang hahaba rin ng pila sa ibang booths esp the popular publishing companies tas dumagdag din yun sa issue in terms of crowd control

the lay out was bad they made the most common booth so small and gave a huge booth to educational books which is fine and all but really shows the underutilization of space when there are dead zones in the convention center the organizer should have anticipated the fictional books to have popularity and arranged a bigger space for them especially if the companies like nbs and fullybooked were the ones overselling their tickets for just profit. they should have required those two to buy a really big space for their tickets
