@ascend325: Law 1 — Never Outshine the Master The first law is not telling you to hide your abilities or make yourself incompetent. It is about understanding the ego and insecurity of people above you. When someone has authority over you, making them feel inferior can turn your greatest strength into a threat. You might be more talented, more intelligent, or more capable—but if you constantly prove it in front of the person above you, they may begin to see you as competition rather than an asset. The smarter move is strategic humility. Let your superior feel respected. Give them credit when appropriate. Make your abilities useful to them rather than making them feel replaced. This doesn't mean becoming a servant to someone's ego. It means knowing when to shine—and when to step back. Because in the game of power, being the most capable person in the room means little if you've made the most powerful person in the room your enemy. #48lawsofpower #stoic #stoicism #ASCEND
