@budgienirvana: Our Week… It’s been a quieter week than usual in the aviary, with a few things keeping HooMum and HooDad on their toes. Clementine initially gave us quite a scare with her “pancaking”, 🙀 although we now know she is nesting 🙄 Many of the girls are also very much in season, sporting those very dark brown ceres above their beaks. And then there’s the moult… 😬 Quite a few of the flock are covered in new pin feathers, especially around their heads. They can be incredibly irritating and growing all those new feathers takes a lot of energy, so things have been a little more subdued around here 😔 We’ve been helping them through it with some scrambled egg for extra protein, a lovely bath and plenty of natural branches with nodes to rub those itchy little heads against. Of course, having a flock has its advantages too… there’s usually a friend nearby willing to preen and scratch those annoying spots you just can’t reach yourself. 💚🐤💚 #Budgies #BirdLife #Parakeets #PetBirds #CapCut
